She and her husband live in Salt Lake City, Utah, with their four children, but she takes every opportunity she can to travel the English countryside.

I am going to re-read it over again and again! They escape after Marianne’s maid Betsy takes a shot at the masked man and he disappears, but not before shooting their coachman.

I would recommend this for grades 7 and up. You might have concluded that somebody had confessed to necrophilia. I liked that she was outspoken and determined one moment, and shy and blushing the next.

Donaldson shows great promise. She may run away tonight and never come back. I adore Georgette Heyer and her Regency romances and was excited that I might find a new favorite author in this book. I have read both of her books now and truly wish there was more for me to read!!

I was in fact, a lot like Meg horsewho had always been a racehorse. I was not impressed. Do you picture beautiful people, interesting locals, society, foppish men, stately manors, and lovely gowns? I picked it up to read just a few pages before getting out of bed but didn’t quit reading until I finished the book.
